We stayed 4 nights (Feb 18-22) at Hotel Alpina in Mürren with our family of 5 (4 adults 3-year-old) and loved it! The double room was cozy, clean, and big enough for the 3 of us — comfortable king bed, bathtub in the shower, and an amazing balcony view of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Breakfast was good and filling, though variety was limited. We tried half-board dinner one night — nice setting, but the food wasn't to our Asian taste. The owner and staff were very friendly and super responsive to my emails. Loved the convenient ski boot room at the entrance, outdoor ski/snowboard storage, and the guest card for free access to the nearby ice rink and indoor pool. It's about a 5-minute walk from the train station—convenient, but with big luggage and snow on the ground, it was tough to carry everything (an electronic trolley or luggage transport service would be a nice addition for families). It required a bit walking to reach the nearest ski area at Allmendhubel and the cable car to Birg – totally okay if you don't bring the kid :P Overall, the location, views, cleanliness, and warm service made it a memorable stay. Highly recommend for the alpine charm— we'd return!
