The place is... read more We had a wonderful experience at Xaver’s. The traditional German food was delicious, the beer was excellent, and the service was truly outstanding. The place is beautifully decorated in a charming, traditional Bavarian style, which adds so much to the atmosphere. Even the waiters were dressed in traditional Bavarian outfits, making the whole experience feel authentic and warm. Its location near the historic center is very convenient, and I’ll definitely choose it again when I return to Munich. Highly recommended!

The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed, making it a great place to experience local food in a slightly more contemporary setting compared to the classic beer halls. The restaurant has a pleasant and welcoming ambiance, and the interior design feels thoughtfully put together. It strikes a nice balance between traditional Bavarian character and modern restaurant comfort. The service was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. The staff were helpful and professional, and the overall dining experience felt smooth and well organized. We ordered Kaiserschmarrn, which was excellent—light, fluffy, and perfectly prepared. The only slightly amusing detail was that it came with applesauce only. While that worked well, such a great Kaiserschmarrn almost seems to deserve a bit more company—perhaps some plum compote as well! Still, it was delicious. Overall, Xaver’s is an excellent choice if you want to try Bavarian cuisine in a slightly more modern and elegant environment while still enjoying authentic local flavors. Definitely recommended.

What really stood out was the atmosphere it was full of locals, which always says a lot. You could tell this is one of those places people from the neighborhood genuinely love. It made the whole vibe feel warm and alive. The staff were amazing, super friendly, attentive, and just good energy all around. It felt natural, not over-the-top, just genuinely nice people who enjoy what they do. And the food? Honestly, everything we had was delicious. You could taste the care in each dish. It wasn’t trying too hard, just really solid cooking with great flavors. Xavers just gets it right! great setting, great people, great food. Definitely coming back. A great option for veggies or vegans with non veg friends, who dont want to miss out on the german Wirtshaus feeling. Vegetarian and partly vegan Options available. Not a lot, but for a Wirtshaus its something. Will definitely come back!

The Wienerschnitzel and the spring salad is to die for. I would say that this restaurant is a typical Bavarian but with a touch of modern, coming from three young adults with a lot of experience and love for what they are doing. As well the restaurant has the amazing variations of wines, so everyone can find something they will enjoy. Prices are more then fair for a city center location and a quality of food you get. Definitely value for money. As well the whole staff speaks fluent English. One of the favorite places in Munich, for sure!!
