Some Germans we met a couple of days earlier HIGHLY recommended the Fish Soup at Fisch Witte in the Viktualmarkt. Place is unassuming. The family-run store has a 30+ year history in this open-air market. You can buy your fresh seafood and take it with you or have it in the inside(air conditioned) or outside.The soup comes in a huge bowl with a portion that was big enough for the two of us! It has a clear, yellow broth that is FULL of seafood from shrimp, to fish chunks, to mussels. It was really amazing. You get about a half a loaf of bread to go with it. Not cheap for soup though at 15 Euros a bowl. We'd go back again though.Word to the wise, they close up shop at 6pm, so get there by 5 pm if you going to eat.

It is always full and the... read more The Fish Witte offers really fresh and good fish, but for me the prices are to high. Why should I pay for Spaghetti Vongole over 18€? It is always full and the many people would not come if it would not be good and you can sit much nicer, than in other places on the Viktualienmarkt. But I have been here twice and it was good, but not so amazing, that I am willing to pay their prices. It depends want you prefer. The Fish Poseidon opposite offers the same quality for much better prices. But it has not the same atmosphere.

It was not bad but it is a bit chaotic due to the amount of customers.Definitely go again.

This is the advertisement of Fisch Witte and the slogan is program: In no other business is the selection of fish and seafood as gigantic as here! And the restaurant is just great! Just stop by (if you want to eat there, please reserve, except you will wait for a table several hours; and try the fish soup that is very tasty, but of course all other dishes! The service is very friendly and accommodating! Just try because we are Witte fans now!
