Because of our former very good exper... read more We, a family of 4 persons, went to this restaurant in expectation of having a great evening together in a good restaurant. Because of our former very good experiences with Maredo in Vienna, Duisburg, Dusseldorf and Berlin we had already decided that Maredo Munich had to be on our 'to do list' in Munich. What a bummer that turned out to be! The decoration was outdated, but hey........ who cares about decoration when the service is nice and the food is great. Unfortunatelly those two things turned out to be a huge disappointment as well. The waiter was very rude and unfriendly. Instead of a friendly service we got rolling eyes, hard dropped plates on our table without a friendly word and impatienced, non interested responces to our questions. When we said we wanted to pay we recieved our first smile frome the waiter, possibly because he thought this would peruade us to tip him, which of course we didnt. His reponse was another rolling eyes hefore he walked away. I dont say that all the waiters in this restaurant are bad but the one who served our table had clearly never heard of good manners. All by all this experience gave us a very bad taste in the mouth. Were there any positive things? Yes.... the food was good but that was the only good thing about our visit to Maredo Munich.

We were in hurry to eat dinner because we got tickets to theater near by and we had just 1h left. So we came to first restaurant we found on our way, which was Maredo. First of all the staff was really not nice. We visited a lot of restaurants in Munich already and everywhere the people were eager to talk and recommend our some food. Here the guy nearly screamed at us. As we are people who eat really little food and in Bayern food dishes are so huge for us we ordered just one main course, one soup and a drink. The waiter brought us the dishes and asked us whether we need a change as it was obvious that we need to eat a lot. Comparing to other restaurants here dishes were small, as form me-not enough for one person unless u are willing to spend extra money for some salad buffet. Meet was so average, nothing special. Price totally not suitable for the quality and the amount. Really... we visited around 6 different restaurants in Munich and we never spend that much money and went out hungry, in bad mood because of the waiter and totally not satisfied. What's more... the guys was hurrying us to pay, I even didn't have time to find my wallet and he was back to take the bill... if u wanna have good food in Munich I rather recommend to try some traditional Bayern food like Schnitzel, anyway u can get the steak in most big cities in the world. Just not in Maredo...
