A funny place, mixing bavarian dudes and a west-American diner.... The focus here, clearly, is MEAT. and smoked one, be it beef, pork or chicken. Hearty portions, served with delicious, home made sauces. Best caesar salad in Munich, good drinks menu to accompany the food. The place is not fancy at all, the staff is super friendly (including lighting a torch once we tried to read the menu outside, before deciding to s... View all feedback.
What zHojo doesn't like about Little Wolf:
Though I typically don't add sauces onto the food that's cooked for me, even if it is barbecue, I found the food a bit bland here and I wasn't sure if it was BBQ adjusted for Bavarian palates. But when I had the Mississippi Mudpie with so much expectations only to be flatten with the same blandness, the only thing I could find positive, was that at least it was consistent. It wasn't bad but not having had good Americ... View all feedback.
This place only has four tables and only three mains on their menu. For me that's an absolutey indicator of high quality. The service was prompt and friendly, including explaining and recommending. The meats are fall-off-the-bone tender, the sides a well chosen variety. Upon recommendation i had their Joshua Tea, which is their house speciality (a burbon-spiked ice tea). One of the many good staff recommendations. As dessert i had a daily special, a pecan pie with a burbon glaze, as recommended by the staff. Very friendly atmosphere, exceptional food and great staff. Be sure to reserve a table on their website, the small place fills up and sells out quickly! Definitely will go back!
If you’re missing good ‘ol BBQ this will tide you over. The meat was very tender and quite good but the sides were sadly lacking we tried the coleslaw that had entirely too much mayonnaise and not much other flavor and the macaroni and cheese which was pretty sad...chunks of orange cheese mixed with macaroni but no creaminess or flavor to bind it all together. The servers were friendly and nice though, and we had a nice comfortable table by the window, so overall is was a nice experience I just don’t know that I’ll be planning to go back anytime soon. Oh also, cash only, just so you know!
This was my first time eating at Litle Wolf. After several days of traditional German food I wanted a change and was happy I went there. The food is good but what really puts this place over the top if the atmosphere and people. After eating I went across the street to Zum Wolfe which I have viisted ~5 times in the past six years and am always blown away by the friendliness and quality of the atmoshpwhere and bartenders. Was thrilled to be able to give them my money and try the German take on traditional US BBQ.
Eat oversalted and practically inedible. not very good at all. the employees were more interested in bringing us out of the door until the closing, what they decided on our arrival, and it took forever to serve us.
If they are all healthy, low carbohydrate, low fat, little whatever, they should probably avoid this place. little wolf is the place they will love when they are looking for a great, smoker-based, meat-loving kitchen with non-fancy people (and more important to mention: not unusual staff) and simply great results. new yorker pastrami sandwich, bark ribs, smoked pork etc. and all this in excellent quality. on the other hand, the small wolf with about 30 places has its own sommelier, which means that they see a meaningful combination between traditional grill dishes and good weeping - a combination that I can only agree. to sum it up: cooler place, but make sure they have a reservation.
