Reviews summary
Roark's Kitchen in Ballintoy offers a charming location with delicious food, especially the sweet treats. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating, making the dining experience pleasant. Despite the lack of internet and mobile signal, cash payments are accepted. While some diners were disappointed with the lack of COVID precautions, others raved about the friendly staff. The sausage rolls and cakes are top-notch, making it a must-visit spot. However, visitors should double-check the opening hours to avoid misunderstandings. Overall, Roark's Kitchen is a delightful cafe with a warm atmosphere and scrumptious offerings, perfect for a visit in Northern Ireland.

She stayed after the woman wandered from the rope bridges to Ballintoy. The food wasn’t fancy, but it was delicious. I had the Irish stew, while the man with me ordered the dish with gravy and bacon. I appreciated that the baked goods were made fresh on-site. Although the food wasn’t extravagant, the service was attentive and the dining experience was excellent. What Anonym dislikes about Roark's Kitchen:
We visited Roark’s during the second week of 2022 while staying in a holiday home with a view of the harbor. Our original plan was to cook most of our meals, but after our first visit for lunch, we were so impressed by the delicious and affordable food that we decided to eat there as often as possible. The desserts were incredible as well! Words can’t capture the fantastic aromas that filled the restaurant. We also r... View all feedback.

Spent a few days at the harbour cottage. The cafe is amazing. Has a super range of cakes as well as savoury food. Fabulous view of the harbour from the seating outside. Very welcoming staff and definitely worth a visit.
The best sausage roll I've ever had. The cakes and tray bakes in this place are top notch, so much selection. Lovely traditional setting with some tables and chairs inside
One of the best places I've been to in Northern Ireland! Great coffee, Great staff and a top notch doughnut with cream and strawberries in! Over the week had a bit of everything and can't fault anything about the place! If you're in Ballintoy Harbour you'd be silly to miss it out!
Absolutely the best homemade cakes I have ever had..Just like your Grandmother would bake .so fresh so tasty. The pie and soup were amazing. I cannot recommend stopping here enough. Top marks all around

Aleays a reliable spot for a break when walking, the new young staff appear to have kept the place much as it was, albeit cleaned up and some of the old lictures we missed, but the cakes were as amazing as ever and the coffee probably a lot better then at one time! Seemed as popular and as crowded, too but thats what you get at Ballintoy Harbour! It attracts the world but coped well.
Out of this world! We had to pinch ourselves at how picturesque this place was. Incredible sweet treats and the girls serving us started to play the banjo and the Irish flute! It was incredible!
Excellent coffee and fabulous choice of good value really tasty cakes. The apple pie was one of the best we have tasted. Lovely situation by the harbour surrounded by stunning views. Were lucky to have some live traditional music too.
Friendly place with very good selection of cakes and treats including ice-cream. Location is very picturesque and was told that the location appears in Game of Thrones, but having not seen the series, I could not say otherwise. Cost 41 pounds for a family of 6 adults for drinks and a cake each, so just under 7pounds per person. Good place to hide from the rain.
This is a wonderful coffee shop! We arrived at 6 o'clock for a quick pit stop and it was well worth it! We ordered hot chocolate, three berry scones and croissants. The scones were freshly prepared that morning by the manager and she was so lovely and happily explained to me about allergens. Staff were all very friendly. Scones came with fresh cream and jam. One of the nicest scones I've had in ages went back for a second one! Croissant was heated. We sat outside with a lovely view of the harbour. Couldn't recommend it enough! Note: cash only!

A fantastic find! The food is delicious, and the prices are very reasonable considering the location. It's the only café in the area, and I definitely recommend it.

Our original plan was to cook most of our meals, but after our first visit for lunch, we were so impressed by the delicious and affordable food that we decided to eat there as often as possible. Our brief friendship even led us to invite them to join us in our wedding photos. I truly hope to return in the future!

The fact that this little restaurant blossoms, although it is in the middle of nothing, is reason enough to go! Local and tourist equally are welcome to enjoy eating that would have cooked them mum, only better. that all too cheap praise! my recommendation, after eating her meal, ask for a scoone take away her thank me if they eat it 4h later
