This restaurant has become one of our regular stops on our way to the cabin in northern Wisconsin. Normally, we just enjoy a drink or two before moving on to our next destination, but this time I was hungry and decided to order a double cheeseburger. It was fantastic! Unfortunately, I devoured it so quickly that I forgot to take a picture… I’m not sure my words can do it justice! Whether it was because I was so hungry or had a couple of drinks, I loved every juicy bite. Next time I head up north, I’ll make sure to wait until I get to Mountain to eat!
We visited with a group of six and were quickly served our drinks. We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the Schoolhouse, who was incredibly gracious. Our food arrived in no time, and the sandwiches were delicious and very reasonably priced. We enjoyed six sandwiches and drinks for just $40! Be sure to check it out—we definitely will be back!
Great bar food, no deep fried stuff. Great service and friendly bartenders. Some of the best old fashioneds in the area, great custom mix. Good place to just unwind after work or party at on the weekends.
This place is amazing! It offers a unique blend of authentic, down-to-earth charm. To top it off, while I was there, someone actually brought a team of sled dogs to the bar! They tied the dogs outside, allowing us to pet them before they even came in for a drink. Inside, everyone was singing together, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It was quite the experience for a Thursday night at 1 AM! I’ve been here before, and the food is great too—definitely recommend the delicious brisket sandwich!
Just passing through town and found this lovely spot full of friendly locals and blaring Christmas music. Got to chat over beer with the bar owner and play pool without any competition for the tables (there are two and no one else was playing). The food was as could be expected for burgers and sandwiches under $8.
