Mavis Kitchen And Cabins
Mavis Kitchen And Cabins
Description
Restaurants that cater to vegans are few and far between, so I was excited to try out Mavis's Kitchen in Murwillumbah. However, when I went back in January 2022, there was only one vegan option on the menu. The house made tofu and salad were delicious and light, but I was hoping for more variety.

Mavis's would be my retirement planLeave the rat race and manage a beautiful homestead turned restaurant and event venue.
Fantastic location and well worth a visit if you are in the Mt Warning areaLunch Wed-Sunday and Dinner Fri and Sat only.
During my previous visit, there were two vegan options available - one on the menu and one on the board. However, there was no offer to veganize any other dishes, even after we asked the server to check with the chef. Despite informing them of our dietary preferences when booking two days in advance, I wouldn't classify this as a vegan-friendly restaurant. I also had doubts about the pesto on the gnocchi containing Parmesan. Nevertheless, the food was of good quality and very tasty. They use local organic produce, including from their own extensive vegetable garden, which contributes to the higher prices.
Simply cannot fault this place. Consistently good lunches. Service: 5 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Great view
