Kyoto Kitchen Japanese - Mount Vernon

This is a traditional Japanese restaurant with stellar dishes. This chef looks after what she produces. The ingredients are always fresh and prepared for perfection. It is not a fast food restaurant, so do not wait in and out in 30 minutes, yet the food comes remarkably fast, even if the restaurant is full. You will not find a better Bento box, certainly not at $26. Other elements at the top of their game are the Sushi, Sashimi and the Tempura. Also the tonkatsu, or panco-crazed pig farm is amazing.

Sukiyaki! My favorite Japanese dish is Sukiyaki. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find and if I find it either ok or not really sukiyaki, but a beef dish in a sukiyaki soup base. Kyoto kitchen has REAL sukiyaki. I was surprised to find the restaurant empty. Especially with the quality of the meal and the ambience of the restaurant both inside and outside. I ordered my meal to go and waited only about 10 minutes. A very nice AUTHENTIC Japanese restaurant with friendly and attentive staff.

I got the Gyoza as an app. Very good, house made. The Kitchen Roll was my meal and it was amazing. Loved the atmosphere, the waitress was very nice and again, the food was delicious.

Excellent food, one of my favorite restaurants in Mt. Vernon. Unfortunately we have spent more disappointing moments having to deal with the restaurant being closed for whatever reasons than getting the joy of enjoying the meals, or maybe its just our bad timing. Recently we made sure checked the website said was opened for business drove 30mins when we got there there was a notice saying closed to be opened on the 22nd. very disappointing indeed. Please can you update your website to keep loyal customers informed and satisfied.
