Old Mill is a long-standing riverside restaurant praised for attentive service, generous cheese-and-relish starters, house rolls and an irresistible dessert list. Its old‑world, quiet dining room offers scenic river views and family-friendly touches like a kids’ menu and high chairs. Critics praise the atmosphere and hospitality but note inconsistent entrée seasoning and portions, an unfocused menu and dated 1950s decor that could use updating. Despite some culinary variability, it remains a beloved local classic.

We visited Old Mill for our anniversary for the first time, having heard nothing about it beforehand. The restaurant has a pleasant and spacious atmosphere with lovely views of the river. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, with a nice variety of items on the menu, including cocktails. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, and our main courses. To our delight, they brought a plate of crackers and cheese spread while we waited, which was a lovely surprise, especially since we had our toddler with us. They provided a high chair, crayons, and a kid's menu, making our experience even better. After our appetizer, they presented us with a generous relish tray, which is apparently a signature offering that regulars look forward to. It included beets, cottage cheese, chickpeas, kidney beans, pickles, coleslaw, jelly, and more—definitely a meal in itself! Then, just when we thought it couldn't get better, our entrées arrived along with another surprise dish of green beans. It seems they provide a complimentary dish with each course (excluding dessert), which was a delightful and unexpected experience for us first-timers. My only minor complaint is that I wish they allowed us to take home leftovers from the relish tray. We also noticed we were the only guests there under the age of 55, which was amusing. The service was fantastic, and we will definitely return!

Classic charm! This fantastic restaurant offers a wonderful atmosphere and beautiful river views from the dining area. The food is outstanding, and the service is even better, with a diverse selection of options. The dessert menu is definitely worth a trip on its own. Take the time to visit; you won't regret it!

Came here for our anniversary for the first time. Hadn 't heard anything about it, but figured we 'd give it a go. The restaurant is nice and very spacious. Had great views of the river. The food was great, and not overly pricey. They had a good selection of items on the menu, and also had cocktails. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, and entrees. Then the unexpected happened. They brought a plate of crackers and cheese spread to the table while we waited. What a nice treat. Especially since we also brought our toddler along (which they were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations of a high chair, crayons, kid menu, etc. . Then, after the appetizer they brought out a massive relish tray . Unbeknownst to us, this is apparently something they do, and that patrons look forward to. This too was a welcome surprise. It had beets, cottage cheese, chickpeas, kidney beans, pickles, coleslaw, jelly, and more. This in and of itself was a meal. Then came our entrees and another surprise dish of green beans. So it seems they essentially give you a dish on the house with each course of meal (minus desert . This was all unknown to us since we 've never been before. But it sure gave us a wow factor and a great dining experience. My single complaint, which really isn 't one, is that I wish they offered the option to take the leftovers of the tray home. We were also the only table there under the age of 55. Ha. Service was also great, and we 'll definitely be back!

Dining at Old Mill is truly a delight and an experience to remember. It feels special, not just a convenient meal without the effort of cooking. I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday there and only wish they were open all year, as it would be the perfect spot for Thanksgiving or Christmas gatherings.
