Verde - Mount Pleasant
Verde
Description
Verde in Mount Pleasant offers a mixed dining experience, primarily focusing on quick, customizable salads and wraps. While some patrons applaud the freshness of the ingredients and a variety of vegan options, others express concerns about food handling practices, with mentions of foodborne illnesses following a shared salad. Customer service experiences vary significantly; while some guests appreciate friendly staff and proactive sustainability efforts, others have encountered rudeness and unresponsiveness. Additionally, there are notable omissions in ingredient availability, such as basic toppings. Overall, Verde's appeal lies in its convenience and healthy offerings, but its execution leaves room for improvement.

I ordered a salad without almonds because of an allergy, but unfortunately, my salad still had almonds in it.
My last two visits to this restaurant were rather uncomfortable. The staff member did not greet me upon my arrival and did not respond when I attempted to engage with him during my time there. He only spoke to inform me of the price of my salad. This led to a rather awkward and lengthy 10-minute experience.
The food at Verde is delicious, but do not attempt to place orders with special instructions on their website! No one actually reads the "special notes," and since they receive an automatic tip, it seems like it doesn't matter to them. If you want to remove anything from your order, choose the "create a custom salad" option and build it exactly how you want. They will not read or follow any requests in the notes, no matter how polite you are. This is frustrating, especially since I’ve already tipped them in good faith. Two salads for $40 delivered is simply disappointing.
This restaurant frequently gets takeout orders wrong and is very slow during lunch hours. If you're in a hurry, it's best to steer clear of this place.
I really enjoy the salads at Verde and order them often, but that might change soon. On at least three separate occasions, I've received a salad with undercooked rice that's almost inedible. Every bite felt like a risk to my teeth. Please address this issue, and I’ll gladly remain a loyal customer. Update 5/9/22: The problem persists. I just received two orders of the "Of Rice and Hen" salad, and neither was edible. Update 7/26/22: I've been ordering from the Coleman location recently, and it happened there as well.
