The decor isn't particularly remarkable; it's just an island in the center of the shopping area, visible from all directions. The color scheme is bright in spots, and the service is decent—nothing exceptional, but adequate for a quick snack break. As expected, this is primarily a bubble tea shop, featuring a variety of milk teas, iced teas, and milkshakes, each with at least a dozen flavor options. You can also add toppings like pearls. Additionally, they offer a selection of snacks, including hot foods and rice paper rolls. My dining companion decided on a bubble tea instead of coffee. He went for the peanut butter flavor in the milk tea, which I found intriguing—I'm a peanut butter fan myself. He added some pearls, and after trying it, I can say it was delicious. I won't critique it though, as my love for peanut butter may lead to bias. The pearls had the perfect texture. As for me, I opted for the classic Vietnamese iced coffee and paired it with some Vietnamese peanut cookies. My coffee had a stronger, more bitter taste than other iced coffees I've tried, but it mixed well with the sweet milk, making it refreshing. It may not be the very best, but it definitely did its job of giving me a boost. The peanut cookies were sweet, small, and had a great crumbly texture—definitely a tasty snack. On my second visit, I decided to try a bubble tea with mango popping boba and mango milk tea as the base. My dining buddy chose lychee milk tea with pearls. As usual, the milk tea was creamy and satisfying, and the pearls were still enjoyable. I had expected the popping boba to act like Pop Rocks, but it actually bursts in your mouth, releasing a small amount of juice. The juices in both drinks were delicious; I appreciate mango for its boldness and lychee for its unique mild taste. I also decided to try one of their banh mis, which was packed with three types of pork: classic barbecue pork, pork loaf, and a special style of salami. It was served on a roll with the usual carrots, cucumbers, mayonnaise, and a touch of chili. I was impressed by the generous portion of meat, almost overflowing, which is a sign of a good sandwich. However, some of the meat was dry and could have been fresher. They really could have done better with the flavor, as I could have used more chili (partially my fault for not asking for it initially). The creaminess of the mayonnaise was nice, and the vegetables were fresh and crunchy. Overall, while this was not one of the best banh mis I've had, I can't say I've had a truly bad one yet. Fruity Cup is not the best Vietnamese option (especially for banh mi) nor is it the top spot for bubble tea. It offers a decent alternative to the mass-produced choices in the food court, but it’s not somewhere I would recommend going out of your way to visit.
After finishing a session of acupuncture at Happy Feet, I found myself craving some meat. As I walked into the bustling Mt Ommaney Food Court, I noticed a long line at Oporto, where I had been yearning for some Portuguese grilled chicken. However, I was disappointed to see that every other vendor also had lengthy queues, except for Fruity Cup, which was located a few meters away from the Food Court. So, I decided to give it a try and ordered a banh mi thit with chili. It was quickly heated in the oven and presented to me within minutes. While the pre-made banh mi thit was decent, it didn’t exceed my expectations. At $7.50, it felt pricey compared to meals in Darra or Inala, but it was the most affordable option in this Food Court. I enjoyed the banh mi thit, but I still left feeling hungry.
This is a great spot for bubble tea and Vietnamese cuisine! I appreciate the cultural diversity, and it's refreshing to find fresh juice instead of syrup or concentrate. I usually order the watermelon juice, which is incredibly refreshing. I always find myself tempted to buy all the happy buns and dim sims! I tried the stew, which was fairly average in flavor, but the beef was incredibly tender.
I waited for five minutes while the girl at the floating counter in the middle didn’t acknowledge me. I called out a couple of times but eventually gave up. This is the second time I’ve experienced this lack of attention from the staff when I've visited. On one occasion, I even had to walk around to the back to get someone’s attention. Given the quality of the bubble tea, it really isn’t worth all that effort.
After an acupuncture session from happy feet I was hungry on meat. When I entered the busy mt ommaney food court, I could see a waiting queue of people in oporto. I would hurry for a Portuguese grilled chicken. disappointed I looked around to watch queuing in any business except fruity cup, which is several meters outside the food court. I ordered a banh mi-tit with chili. it was often heated and presented to me in a few minutes being prefabricated, the banh mi thit was not great. at $7.50 it was in comparison to darra or inala expensive, but in this food court it was the cheapest meal to have. I enjoyed the banh mi-tit, but I was still hungry.
