Nestled within a quaint motel, this family-run restaurant has garnered mixed reviews reflective of its current state. Diners often appreciate the welcoming service from the charming owners and find the Indian cuisine flavorful, with some declaring it among the best. However, criticisms arise regarding inconsistent service, limited menu options, and poorly managed takeaway orders. Guests have reported disappointing experiences due to staffing issues, and the overall atmosphere sometimes falls short of expectations. While some patrons express loyal support and satisfaction, it's evident that the restaurant is striving to navigate the demands of both dine-in and takeaway customers amidst shifting circumstances.

What Anonym dislikes about Abyssinian Cafe:
I have visited this restaurant 2 or 3 times. If you have a large group, forget it, as they struggle to handle large parties and you need to pre-order naan bread or poppadoms or they might run out. When on the way to ice fish Simcoe in the winter this is the closest Timmy's to the best jumbo perch fishing.

Really nice service and clean restaurant, ordered 2 drinks, 2 currys, 2 cheese garlic naan brot and 1 cocos rice. perfect quantity for 2 people, still over good prices too. the gentleman who served us was very nice and catering for our table. drive on the way to mount isa to have a good table service with a smile. will again enjoy another meal.

We were hoping for an Ethiopian meal but were very happy with our choice from a small curry menu. Food was very tasty and well cooked. Choice of wine- house red or white. Reasonable quality. Service was very friendly and we had an amazing conversation with the very well travelled chef! A very pleasant evening.
