Royal Thai - Mount Hawthorn

This wonderful Thai restaurant has closed its doors for business. Favourite local takeaway place so sad to see it closed!Apartments are being built here now.

Each time I go here the price goes up and the quality goes down, the restaurant is depressing and the food is oily and sickening, not a lime or chilli in sight, just lots of oil and sugar, such a shame, I really want a Thai local

We met friends at this restaurant in Oxford Street and although quite unassuming from the outside it was a fabulous surprise inside. The atmosphere was set with loads of flags and thai decor and the gorgeous wind chimes tinkling away in the breeze adding to the oriental atmosphere. The menu was extensive and the service was charming, prompt and helpful. We enjoyed a range of dishes and they were all delicious, without exception. Generous in size and coming out fresh and hot quite quickly after we had ordered. There was a cover charge for our bottle of bubbly but the waiter bought out chilled champagne glasses, a nice touch and adding to the occasion. We really enjoyed ourselves here and promised to return, especially after we paid the bill, such fantastic value for money.....five dishes plus rice and corkage and less than thirty dollars a head! We will definitely return here again soon.

We visit this place on a Sunday with friends. Easy to find, great food, good service, byo. The food is very good and authentic. Worth a visit.

Recently we had the urge for a Thai meal and I remembered going to a wedding reception here a few years back and the excellent food they served. We went on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was surprisingly quiet, with only 4-5 other couples dining. As remembered the food was delicious with reasonable sized servings. Service was also good.
