Simple atmosphere. authentic Italian dishes. exactly right, and also presentation. table distance perfect for talks that are not overheared.

I was pleasantly surprised by Originali Cafe, as it felt more like a restaurant than a traditional café. They serve delicious Italian cuisine with a limited but good menu, showcasing a real touch of Italy. The wine prices are a bit high, but they offer good quality options. Overall, a wonderful spot for lunch in Castlemaine.

My wife and I decided to go to castlemaine on Easter Saturday. after we have looked at all reviews on tripadvisor, we decided to make an original one. we were so glad we did. we asked for a table in the backyard that was packed. after a bit smiling around the charming waitress had organized a table for us. we ordered a gin and tonic that was one of the best we had for a long time. the meals were to die, we had the taste in our mouth for the rest of the afternoon. we could not blame the friendly Italian service. we will definitely be back.

Six of us went to Originali during the first weekend of the Castlemaine Festival for a spontaneous lunch and we were pleasantly surprised with the simple yet delicious meals. The prosciutto salad was fresh and flavorful, with a perfect balance of aromas. The mushroom ragu pasta was indulgent and satisfying. Though the desserts looked tempting, we were already satisfied with our meal. The service was friendly and efficient.

Vist Castlemaine, visit Origini for lunch. The sunny squeezy courtyard makes a fine place to share a platter of meats, olives, artichoke hearts and cheese, a glass of wine and coffee. The owner is always cheerful and friendly and happy to enthuse about destinations Italian!...Highly recommended.
