McShanag's - The Pie Shop

I ordered a chunky beef pie. It had some horrible fatty chunks in a standard beef mince filling. Not what I expected. After a bite or two, it went in the bin. This used to be a good pie shop. Not anymore.

Can't go wrong at this bakery, serving all your traditional pies, pastries & cakes. A good cheap feed, handy for a picnic in one of the nearby parks.

The Pie Shop is much better than its appearance. I have to admit the window display is the most basic I have seen. While McShanag's is a traditional country bakery, with a small range of standard products (bread, cakes, pastries, and such), it does make some excellent pies. I had a vegetable pastie and found that it had really good pastry, just the right degree of flakiness. So give it a chance.
