Myself and my 3 friends had the pleasure of eating at the Cumberland on Friday night and the meal was fantasticThe best pub meal I have had forever.

Apart from the oysters and the wedges I had they were nice. The fish for seniors was average, unfortunately the cream of vegetables soup was not that nice, especially on a cold day a hearty vegetable soup would have been nice. The lamb shank was average. Not your top end of pub food.

A quiet Monday, called in for lunch and met by a very charming young lady, Georgia, who was not only very helpful, but was obviously proud of the food being served. When asked about a particular dish, she was more than happy to go into detail as to how it was prepared, without the usual heavy sighs and rolling of the eyes. Georgia had time for her guests and was more than willing to help.We ordered two seniors meals, and were pleasantly surprised at the size and quality served.There is no problem in recommending this hotel for both its staff attitude and/or the quality of the food....Thank you Georgia for a pleasant luncheon...will see you again.
