We had a larger party this past weekend of 9 and was seated promptly when we arrived. Service was terrible, the server almost seemed annoyed that we had a larger party and asked for two separate checks before ordering. We ordered an appetizer, the trio of cheese curds, mozzarella sticks and Mac and cheese bites. I've always been a fan of Pequod’s pizza; there's nothing quite like it. It was my favorite spot in Chicago. However, I think Burt’s is just as fantastic! They pile on the pepperonis, the crust is wonderfully crisp, and there's plenty of flavorful sauce. It feels like a blend of Detroit-style pizza and Chicago deep dish—it's thicker with the crispy crust reminiscent of Detroit style, yet round like a Chicago pie. I now have two favorite pizza places in Chicago! Service: Takeout.
The staff, the food—everything was absolutely fantastic! I can't believe I've lived nearby for years and only just now decided to visit after moving away. It was definitely worth the drive, as the flavors were incredible. Food: 5/5, Service: 5/5, Atmosphere: 5/5. Highly recommend!
This pizza was incredible, and I might even go so far as to say it's better than Pequod's. The waitress suggested the giardiniera and sausage, which was absolutely delicious. The patio is charming, and there's a cozy indoor dining space as well.
