What User doesn't like about Mortdale Hotel:
OK Mexican food. Service was a little TOO attentive for a pub. Spoiling the whole meal was the smoke that permeated the entire bistro from the pub. In 2016 I cannot believe that there is still a pub where people sit and drink and feed the pokies while smoking....doors wide open so the poor people 20m away in the restaurant had a smokey meal. The amazing staff and regular customers make the two-hour journey from work worth it every time.
Compared to Penshurst, this restaurant falls a bit short. It has a dingy sports gambling bar and a large room filled with poker machines. The drinks are slightly smaller in size, yet the prices are the same as Penshurst, which are much higher than Hurstville.
I recently revisited the hotel, but was disappointed to find that the beach dining area was closed. This was frustrating as it meant we had to make alternative plans. It is surprising to me how a hotel can overlook the importance of providing dining options for their guests.
The Mexican restaurant has closed and no longer available No one has taken over the pantry it is not known whether this will happen, how tormented it will have the size of the playroom unknown at this time
Only a local pub. actually a little worse than that. in a grunde a dive. not even good for a quick beer after the jumping out of the train.
