really good French toast. I just went to breakfast here, I love the atmosphere and the people and the pancakes are also huge and have amazing taste and texture. the coffee is simple, but quite strong and the waitress I always had is fast and pleasant and really nice to my year old. the French toast is texas toast and well soaked and saturated with ice. the hash brews are crispy and well roasted and really delicious w... What Tyson Balistreri doesn't like about Grandma Jean's Country Kitchen:
With the closure of Sam Betty's , Morgantown is pretty devoid of homestyle diners (besides Ruby Ketchy's in Cheat Lake). However, I just heard about Grandma Jean's Country Kitchen right over in Westover along Dunkard Avenue. After doing some preliminary research, I saw some people are big fans . My family and I were in Deep Creek for the week and I saw a sign for this restaurant near Schoolhouse Earth.
Wonderful little breakfast place that was a short drive from our rental in Friendsville, MD.
My husband and I are here atleast once a month and it's my favorite local restraunt.
Small building, large breakfast. I am one of those people who love the breakfast every day, every time I'm pushed into this little red building I'm rewarded. the portions are perfect, eating fresh and hot and I am always made to feel welcome. I keep hearing that they also make fantastic carving, but never did it there, at the days that the special happens.
A delicious secret!. this place doesn't look like that outside. actually it doesn't look bigger than a hairdresser shop. but there are plenty of sitting in the inner and a beautiful herd to sit next to. this is a house-like environment with homemade meals. absolutely delicious. crispy real speck, mouth watering mountaineer sausage bought before place, meat-leaved as large as it tastes. I had nothing bad yet. we try to go as often as possible, every time we have eaten there, we have left to house and never spent over twenty dollars. if they know about this place, they are one of the happiest people in morgantown. all grafen and granville bullen eat there as well as the postmen and local, so it must be good!
