The Cross Keys Hotel is a local pub that serves good meals at a reasonable price. My relatives, who live locally, eat there regularly. The food is pub-grub style, but it's good value and the serves are large. What User doesn't like about Keys Bistro:
My meal at The Keys Bistro in the Cross Keys Hotel in Strathmore was quite inexpensive (all meals are $15 for lunch) and the wine was drinkable, but nothing special. I was a bit distracted by the noise from the Pokie area and the TV coverage of things I could bet on. In the unlikely event that you want to order wine by the bottle, you may be disappointed. The Keys Bistro is a stone's throw from the Cross Keys Reserve. In all, the Keys Bistro offers a good value proposition and I've always left satisfied.
A groups of gym friends, we always eat here when one of the ladies has a birthday. There is a small area separated off where we Book. We order meals from the bistro but they are happy for us to bring our own birthday cake. The Seniors menu has a good selection.

I did feel a bit uncomfortable.
The quality of food at the Keys Bistro has varied over the years, but, at the moment, they are offering good quality suburban pub grub at reasonable prices. Don't expect gourmet cuisine, but what you will get are the classic pub basics cooked well. I've eaten a variety of dishes here recently in a range of circumstances, and I'm yet to be disappointed by any. Provided your expectations are realistic, you can look forward to a decent quality pub meal at the Keys. Don't expect much from the wine list, and the prices are a bit steep for my taste, but the beer is cold and they have a few varieties on tap.
Came here on account of $12 lunch special. $15 on arrival. Staff were a bit rude. Ordered a parmi, crumb was burnt and sauce tasted very store bought and watery. Chips served under parmy were soggy and undercooked. Chicken was nice. Won't be back. Table had not been wiped down. Not a friendly atmosphere and sports bar smelled pretty bad.
