Fredericks Restaurant is attached to the Mt Alexander Best Western motel in Mt Alexander Road Essendon, about 10 minutes walk from Essendon Railway Station. .Fredericks functions as a restaurant or as a function centre for conferences and meetings. When I have eaten there the food has been so so, good value for money.

Conveniently located next to a motel this restaurant not only serves in house diners but offers service to the motel. A warm welcome from staff, who I think were fairly new, but keen to please. Food was prompt well cooked and tasty. Overall a good value meal in a fully licensed venue with a well thought out menu which should please the majority. A good touch was the Owner ( or what appeared to be the owner) , personally attending to each table and checking things were good.

Strange to tell, the most famous pub meal in Australia is chicken parmigiana or "parma." These days the average parma is overs $20, so when you get one for $10 on Thursday -- "parma night " -- you are getting a real bargain. The staff are very obliging and if you don't want a crumbed parma, they will prepare one without crumbs. A side salad, at $2, is also very good value. The parma is served with a generous serving of chips. The restaurant has wine or beer by the glass. Fredericks also has a tempting dessert menu butg quite frankly I couldn't fit dessert into my already full tummy. Fredricks has other reasonably priced menu items, plus a full barf. Everyone is welcome and the staff are friendly.

Food was great as too was the young aldy that served us. We were staying in the Motel and found everything was to be all that we wished for.
