After visiting this takeaway cafe about a year ago and writing a very complimentary review of it, I decided to give it another try.We got off to a poor start when I googled the cafe and obtained the telephone number from their website.After ringing the telephone number for 30 minutes in an attempt to place and order and receiving a busy tone on every occasion I gave up and decided to drive to the cafe.When I arrived I asked if they had been really busy and the guy behind the counter replied "not really just steady" and I advised him of my unsuccessful attempts to ring them and he replied "oh yeah that telephone has been disconnected and we receive most of our orders through menulog now", and seemed completely uninterested in my difficulty in contacting them.I placed an order for the gourmet hamburger with the lot and some grilled fish and chips and they were average, certainly nowhere near as good as previously.I think it's changed management and it's certainly not the same service and the food is not as good as it was, which is a pity.I don't think I'll bother going back.

The best burger I ever had. The burger was super rich, full of flavour, chips are crunchy out side and fluffy inside. Super delicious burger with friendly service in the best combination, what else should I look for? Will be back any time soon.????????????????????????????????????

Why haven't I heard of this place before? I ordered on Menulog and and our first impression upon delivery was the size of the burgers. Bacon hanging out left, right and center. The meat is so soft, home made and tasty. I am so particular, but this hit all the right marks for me. I cannot recommend high enough. You have to try them! Well done to this establishment, you have achieved top marks and are so much better than any other gourmet burgers places.

We decided on the spur of the moment to have some take away food for dinner and I remembered there was a Gourmet Burger restaurant in our suburb called the Cookhouse.I ordered the Aussie Gourmet Burger which consisted of a 200g lean beef pattie, caramalised onion, bacon,egg, tomatoe, smokey BBQ sauce, tasty cheese, tomatoe relish and a garlic aioli. It was absolutely sensational, one if not the best burger I've had in the last 10 years.The rest of the family ordered Flake in batter, potatoe cakes and chips and they were all delicious as well.The batter was cooked to perfection, not greasy and had lovely crunchy bits as well.They also have Chicken, Fish and Veggie Gourmet Burgers as well.This little takeaway restaurants is one of the best kept secrets in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.The service from the two young women was friendly and courteous and I'll certainly being going back again soon.
