The sizzling Peking beef featured a wonderfully balanced, slow heat, and the beef itself was outstanding—far surpassing the often disappointing Mongolian lamb. The master stock in the chicken Chow Mein was beautifully crafted, with perfectly cooked chicken and delightful vegetables, although perhaps just slightly over-seasoned. One standout was the fried rice, which was simply the standard version but executed flawlessly—light and not greasy, it made a fantastic addition to our meal. There’s nothing pretentious here, and while it doesn’t aspire to Michelin-star status or reinvent traditional dishes, the food is fresh, delicious, and expertly prepared. The portions are generous, and the staff is friendly and attentive. If we had paid twice as much in Chinatown for a meal of this quality, we would have left extremely pleased. This charming little restaurant is a true gem for Moree, and we can’t wait for our next visit!
My husband and I dined here on a Wednesday night, and it was a delightful experience. The duck was incredible—super tender and expertly deboned, served with a delicious sauce. Despite the restaurant being busy, the service was excellent. The food far exceeded what we had at one of Melbourne's most renowned Chinese restaurants, The Flower Drum. I’m serious—after dining at The Flower Drum about two months ago, we left extremely disappointed, especially given the quality of the food and the high prices associated with its reputation. Bo Wa is a must-visit restaurant for anyone spending a night or two in Moree and the surrounding area. Just absolutely outstanding food!
The restaurant is clean and conveniently located near the main town area. The food is very fresh and incredibly tasty. One thing to note is that not all meat dishes include vegetables, so I recommend ordering a vegetable plate as well. I dined there on April 22, 2022, and the waitress was lovely, professional, and very patient with our noisy table filled with indecisive chatter! The prices are reasonable. I would definitely eat there again when I visit Moree.
As a frequent patron of Chinese restaurants in Sydney, I was very apprehensive about trying this restaurant. However, it was decent. It doesn't compare to the quality of Chinese restaurants in Sydney, but I was pleasantly surprised and would go again if I had a strong urge for Asian food and was in the area. Excellent service which earns a star all on its own. Not crazy expensive prices.
The sizzling Beijing beef had a wonderfully balanced, slow-burning flavor, and the quality of the beef was outstanding. It was a far cry from the often disappointing Mongolian lamb. The broth in the Chicken Chow Mein was beautifully crafted; the chicken was cooked just right, and the vegetables were almost perfect, perhaps just slightly overcooked. One of the standout dishes was the fried rice, which, though standard, was prepared excellently. The 'Breath of the Dragon' was just right—not greasy at all—complementing our meal beautifully. There’s nothing here trying to earn a Michelin star or reinvent traditional dishes, but everything is fresh, delicious, and skillfully prepared. The portions are generous, and the staff is lively and attentive. If we had paid double in Chinatown and received this quality, we would have left very satisfied. This is a fantastic little restaurant and a real gem for Moree. We can’t wait for our next visit!
