We swung by here after stopping at Starbucks. I was craving a 'Pie ' and thankfully among the Vegetarian options, there was a 'Macaroni Pie '. As these 'Pies ' go, this was top quality warm, a tasty crust on top and well seasoned 'Macaroni Cheese ' underneath. The heat was nicely retained by the foil case. What madbanshee doesn't like about Ashers Bakery:

Seen cakes through the window, thought they looked nice, lady wasn’t very welcoming, didn’t have a smile on her face and looked like she wanted to be elsewhere. First time trying these cakes and also my last. The sponge cake and carrot cake looked good however they both tasted dry, and stale and flavourless. Waste of money.
Individual hot Steak pie. Superb. Packed with a filling of tender meat and gravy. Lots of great flavoured meat, and no empty spaces. Pastry perfect, flaky and holds together to eat on the move. Quality.
Very nice bakery with friendly staff. Very good sausage rolls and scotch pies.
Excellent snack, coffees and scones served by a delightful young lady who was in sole charge. She was a delight!
First try today. The baked goods are delicious as were the sausage rolls. I was really surprised how inexpensive it was too. The Irish woman that served me couldn't have been nicer and more patient with me. Employees like her should be treated like gold. I wish I got her name. I'll be back everytime I'm in Elgin.
