We had just left the Cardhu Distillery and was looking for somewhere to grab a Sandwich. Just minutes from the Distillery, we came across a roadside cafe called Archies Den. It has only been open for 3 weeks. Easy and free parking either on the street or around the corner by the Hotel. It is a small cafe. Home made soup and local produce meals. It sells Rizza's Ice Cream. Very tasty. Spotted Afternoon Tea for 2 at £1... View all feedback.
My grandmother, Helen, owned this restaurant, although I never knew what happened to it. She also owned most of the surrounding land, making it a beautiful place.
After a rainy walk around Archiestown, we treated ourselves to a delightful afternoon tea. The scones and cakes were delicious, and there was plenty of coffee and tea to go around. Although the sitting area was small, we informed them of our group size and arrival time, and everything was set up beautifully for us. We will definitely return with our family on a sunny day to try their homemade ice cream!
Stopped in for a light mid-day meal. Wonderful soup (sweet potato and leek) and a tasty cheese toastie. Very friendly staff who aims to please.
Went in for a very nice plate of soup. Very friendly and a great price., well done and keep up the good work they also make Great pizzas
We had just visited the Cardhu Distillery and were in search of a light lunch when we stumbled upon Archie's Den in Archiestown. The restaurant had only been open for 3 weeks and had a cozy, charming atmosphere with unique tables and chairs. They were offering a special deal for Afternoon Tea for two at £10, which caught our attention. Although I have been to many hotels and restaurants for Afternoon Tea with my wife, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and value of the food at Archie's Den. The sandwiches, homemade scones, cakes, and large pot of tea and coffee were delicious and filling. The staff were friendly and engaging, creating a welcoming atmosphere. While Archie's Den may not be a gourmet restaurant, it is a down-to-earth and lovely café. They also offer Rizza's ice cream, sweets, and unique gifts for purchase. Overall, our experience at Archie's Den was enjoyable and we would recommend it to others, even if it is a bit out of the way. We may not live nearby, but we hope to return in the future to explore more of the area. Thank you to the staff at Archie's Den for a lovely experience.
