We visited the restaurant a week before Yellowstone National Park Closed due to flooding in June 2022. We enjoyed the breakfast so much that we came back (from Jackson Lake Lodge) the next morning for another breakfast. The (ordered, not buffet) dishes were good and Rebecca (from Michigan) served us very well. View all feedback.
What Blissful Manifestations doesn't like about Sheffields:
The customer service was good. But the food was terrible the omelet was burnt looked like a pancake and when we asked to have it redone we were told that it will come out the same way 20 minutes. For dinner I ordered asparagus with chicken and the asparagus was well over cooked and looked horrible. I will never eat there again. Not worth the money, I would drive for be to the next town to eat rather than eat there. m... View all feedback.
A delightful surprise! When we arrived at the campground, it was pouring rain, so we were thrilled to discover that they had a restaurant on-site. Honestly, we would have been satisfied with anything that spared us from having to cook in the rain, but the food here was exceptional. The elk medallions and trout completely outshone our previous fine dining experience, and it was much more affordable. The service was warm and attentive. We had such a wonderful time that we returned for breakfast, which was equally fantastic!
On our second night, there were 11 of us in the group, and they struggled to accommodate such a large party. I ordered a ribeye steak cooked medium rare, but it came out rare and cold. I sent it back, and the waiter admitted there had been a mix-up and that they had served me a frozen steak, so be cautious about that. Some members of our group shared a meal, only to discover when we went to pay that there was an $8 charge for sharing a plate, which only included an extra side. It's also important to note that parties of eight or more automatically have a gratuity added to the bill, but this is not reflected in the itemized bill; it only appears on the credit card receipt with a blank line for an additional tip. So, be aware of that as well.
The customer service was good, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The omelet was burnt and resembled a pancake. When we requested a redo, we were informed that it would come out the same way in 20 minutes. For dinner, I ordered asparagus with chicken, and the asparagus was overcooked and looked unappetizing. I definitely won't be returning. It’s not worth the price; I would prefer to drive to the next town for a meal instead. It seems like the only reason they’re still in business is that they are the only restaurant option within an 11-12 mile radius.
For breakfast, they offered a buffet that my wife loved, while I chose the Mountain Platter (though I might not have remembered the exact name), which was a generous and delicious meal for just $15—definitely a great value for the price. The service was also excellent, especially from Madeleine, who went above and beyond to entertain our baby so we could enjoy our breakfast in peace. Whether you're staying at Headwaters or just passing through the parks, I highly recommend stopping by for a meal.
Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered! The standout was definitely the garlic mashed potatoes with vegetables. The kids were big fans of the homemade mac and cheese and appreciated the excellent selection of side options.
