La Zapoteca - Moorpark

Don’t sleep on this place. The food is delicious and the staff know what they’re doing. Even though I got a burrito for take away, without having to ask, they cut the burrito in half. While that is a small thing, it shows they care, put forth the effort, and go the extra step.

The place has improved compared to the previous administration, the food is very delicious, it could almost be perfect except for the boy at the cashier, the one with the Chinese hair, NOTHING FRIENDLY, ZERO COMMUNICATION, WITH A BAD MOODY FACE ALWAYS AND DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO SAY THANK YOU . I hope they ask him to be nicer to people.

When it comes to a must-try Mexican restaurant in Moorpark, this is it! However, I must admit our first visit the food was a 3.75 star experience. The owner gave us great customer service on our first visit, we placed an order on a food item that had sold out and to make up for the inconvenience she threw in some freebies. We gave this place a second shot and I'm so glad we did. Since then the food has been a 5 star experience. We've tried several food options from their menu: guacamole, salsas, mole, queso birria tacos, chile relleno, tortas, burritos and a fish dish. The portions were generous, ensuring that I had enough to enjoy later. The ambiance is casual, small for large parties with a few tables for parties of 4. Parking lot is small but I always manage to find a spot. Buen provecho!

Delicious. Friendly customer service. Birria is on point, breakfast burritos are incredible, and their Zapoteca burrito is amazing. You can tell they put a lot of love into each dish. I am so glad I found this place for best Mexican food in moorpark.
