We kick off with... read more A warm welcoming atmosphere greets us at this cosy, family-owned restaurant situated on a busy street only problem – difficult to park nearby). We kick off with a starter of puntarelle a type of chicory), perfectly dressed with anchovies and pecorino cheese. Then we move to the fixed lunch menu € 13 excluding drinks – wide choice and excellent value). The seafood soup is judged delicious, with a good variety of squid and baby octopus, a generous portion of ribollita soup a traditional Tuscan winter dish) was very good, a plate of warmed roast beef covered with red chicory trevigiana) and scamorza cheese was also thoroughly enjoyed, as was a grilled tomino cheese accompanied by perfectly grilled vegetables. All fairly traditional fare but very tasty, and no problem if you are vegetarian either. The homemade desserts, including tiramisu and soft chocolate cake) complete our meal. Service is very friendly and efficient, the quality/price ratio is perfect- an excellent restaurant where you can have a well cooked meal with no pretensions in a comfortable ambience. They also organize themed culinary evenings the next one includes hearty winter dishes from Piedmont). All in all to be thoroughly recommended.

But for me it was grilled steak, with Italian red wine, this place is amazing, friendly but hey you should be able to read their menu in Italiano, otherwise you might miss something fortune. Food was pretty mediocre and it seems that chef is quite tired or just started its career. Wine selection is nice, so its the only one plus. Would not recommend this place for visit for dinner.

Paolo... read more The fried gnocchi, the spaghetti a la Siciliana, and the gnocchi with gorgonzola are absolute favorites in this, my absolute favorite restaurant in Monza. Paolo and Susanna are the consummate hosts, and the building (with a courtyard in the summer) is inviting and comfortable. A small, delightful pleasure is the insalata mista. The perfect dinner on any evening.
