This is one of my top restaurants. It has a lovely and inviting ambiance. The service is consistently top-notch, with familiar faces each time we visit. The cuisine is exceptional, truly representative of French fine dining. Additionally, they accommodate vegetarian and vegan requests. View all feedback.
What Riley Murazik doesn't like about Le Bordelais:
Tuesday night, we are looking for a place for a quick supper. Do not want fastfood and do not have time for a real fancy supper. We were looking for a middle of the road place. That is exactly what Le Bordelais is. View all feedback.
We wanted to take my mother-in-law and not to a nice place to dinner without having to go to the city, as at the moment there is a lot of construction in montreal, which slows the dinge even more than normal. le bordelais was recommended by some of her friends to my mother-in-law, so we thought we would try. the place was quite busy, and the hostess was very friendly. our table has put another table with not much space in between so that the staff can go between the tables. there are a lot of menu items, including a special menu that includes suppe or salat and its entrée. (No, they don't call it a prix fixe menu. my mother-in-law chose sampi and asked for no sweet, no rice, but for pommes. her court arrived without sweet, but included the rice and a small portion of french french french french (additional $ 2.95). they are counted as homemade french fries, but they saw how they were a very dark brown color. my man had a surf and a turf, that was a 5 unzen filet, 2 garnelen and 2 langoustine. our niece had a braided bark dish and I decided to halibut with a Mediterranean salsa. my halibut was in order, but it was served on a bed of lukewarm kartoffeln. the suppe of the day was edible, a over boiled stracciatella. I would never go back to this restaurant, and it could be worth the trip in the city next time.
A classy and reasonable restaurant at the same time.. All menu is just perfect. We were a table of 5 and wanted to celebrate a birthday.. They were having only big cake, so they proposed to put the table the big cake (big enough for...maybe 15 persons), with the candles and all stuff, after we celebrate our occasion, they took it and brought to us 5 portions, and charged only the portions which we consumed... It was a fair compromise.
The food and service were both outstanding. Nicely decorated and white table cloths. The carafe of house wine was very good. They are celebrating their 30th anniversary so there was as a special menu with good choices and reasonably priced. A most enjoyable dining experience.
Went there for a family gathering of 30 40 people. I know it's sometimes hard to manage a group but seriously... You knew we were coming weeks in advance. The ONE server we had was quite the surly person. I'll refrain from using bad...language. Her attitude right from the start set the mood for the evening. She absolutely made such a fuss that she had to go downstairs to go run a credit card for the bar tab. Why do you have a bar then? Why are you trying to do Everything? If you are short staffed let us know! I was looking forward to the food. I ordered the veal medallions in a mushroom sauce. The veal was dry... how is that possible? Tried my wife's salmon with Hollandaise sauce and it was quite bland.Doing I read that they had good coffee too... wrong... I make a better pot of Tim Hortons. Go Figure! Good thing they automatically charge a gratuity tip on the bill... I would NOT have added one.
