Contribute FeedbackZaika, a popular Indian restaurant in Montreal, has received a mix of reviews from customers. While some have had negative experiences with slow service and disorganized reservations, others have raved about the delicious food and friendly staff. Despite some setbacks, many customers praise the authenticity of the dishes and the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. With a variety of vegetarian options and flavorful curries, Zaika seems to be a hit for those looking for a unique dining experience in Montreal.
Upon entering the restaurant, we found the waiter setting up all the tables. We sat down and waited for some time as the waiter continued setting up without acknowledging us. When we finally asked to order, the waiter told us to wait until he finished his task. After a long wait, I had to raise my voice to request a cappuccino, only to be told the machine was broken. I settled for tea instead. Ten minutes later, we were finally able to place our order. The samosas were flavorless and appeared to be reheated from frozen. The curries were average at best. The waiter never once checked on us during our meal. When it came time to pay, he held out the card machine, watching as I selected a tip, violating the standard practice of allowing customers to add tips in private. Overall, it was a disappointing and frustrating dining experience.
My group of four, consisting of a mother and three teenagers, two of whom were hungry boys, visited the restaurant. We found the food to be delicious, with the medium spice level being just right for us. We ordered 3 naans and 2 rice to go along with 3 meat and 2 veggie dishes, which we shared family style. We all enjoyed the rich flavors of the gravies. We would definitely come back and recommend this place to others. Richard's friendly demeanor made us feel welcome.
Definitely worth trying! This Indian restaurant in Montreal is now my top choice. The food is incredibly fresh and the sauces are bursting with flavor. I haven't enjoyed a vegetarian meal this much in a long time, especially the Shahi Paneer dish. I absolutely loved the entire dining experience!
I was looking for a nice Indian restaurant for a family getaway when I landed on comments for Zaika, and was impressed by all the comments I read. It appeared to be THE one Indian restaurant you can’t missed in Montreal. Unfortunately, to my dismay, I was very disappointed. The service was good but the food was just ok. The ambiance was not extraordinary. As compared to other Indian restaurants in the vicinity of Montreal, I found it quite pricey!
What a find! My friends and I love a BYOB restaurant, we stumbled across Zaika whilst looking for parking. A super calm and cozy environment, great service and outstanding food. I ordered an extra meal to take home for my husband to try. Highly recommend!
