After years living in Côte-des-neiges, we finally went to this restaurant which was recommended in a book. The food is good, the variety is great and the staff friendly. As the place is spacious, it is a good fit for a large group of friends or family. The "table d'hôte" is a great value as you get a soup (try the tum yum) , an egg roll, a tea, a mango salad and a main dish for less than 20$. The place is easy to mis... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Talay Thai:
I made an order for pick-up today of all vegetarian food and specified that I am a vegetarian. After returning home and started eating, I realized that it was chicken that I was chewing! I called the restaurant and respectfully explained what happened. They said the cook accidentally put chicken instead of tofu and there's nothing we can do to guarantee that this doesn't happen. They offered to replace the order but... View all feedback.
I have loved this restaurant for a very very long time. Best Pad Thai and Coconut Soup! Sadly I have to give a bad review because the place is filthy! There is nothing more disappointing and unsavory than a dirty unkept restaurant. The tables have NEVER been moved to clean the floor. The place is gross and disorganized with junk around the counter. I will sadly not be going back unless this is dealt with.
Although there were many options on the menu, all 4 dishes that we got all kinda tasted the same. One had peanuts, one came with noodles, but the sauces were too similar. We also asked for things to be very spicy, and you would expect a Thai restaurant to be able to honor that request, but all of it was incredibly mild.
As a thai myself, I can say that this is one of the worse thai food I’ve ever eaten. No where near authentic.Corn and brocoli In a tom kha? Their pad thai sauce is essentially just ketchup.Price wise, it’s more affordable than most places but don’t be fooled! You’ll get better food at thai express.
Ordered delivery in the hopes of some comfort-noodles after a rough day. The positive is that the order was prepared and delivered in a reasonable time frame (about 35 minutes) and arrived still warm. The noodle dishes I ordered (pad thai shrimp and pad si ew beef) were really not good. The pad thai noodles had a squishy texture and the sauce had a slightly sweet flavour but I did not taste tamarind or any other flavour at all. The pad si ew sauce looks and tastes like flavourless brown gravy and the dish was covered in black pepper. The red curry with chicken side of rice is the only thing I ordered that tasted the way it usually would from a Thai restaurant. The curry had fresh vegetables and a good taste and level of spice. The pieces of chicken were not great though. They were just these big dry cubes of chicken breast rather than the usual thinly sliced juicier thigh pieces. It is possible that the noodle dishes were just not to my taste and others would like it, but I would not order from here again.
Overpriced for what it is. Very little chicken in my chicken Pad Thai. Also the waiter we had was absolutely terrible. Forgot my friend's drink, was not very knowledgeable about the restaurant's specials and promotions, and seemed to be very aloof.
