What User doesn't like about Restaurant Ethan:
This is the first Chinese restaurant I tried when visiting Montreal Chinatown. Its preparation of Cantonese cuisine is not impressive. The pan-fried noodles was not pan fried at all and served more like lo mein. They also do not serve real authentic wonton in this shop. However their different version of the wonton dumplings do not taste bad. This place does have big portion and fast service. To some folks, that is v... View all feedback.
We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and weren't expecting much, but we were pleasantly surprised. My husband ordered a dish and I opted for the Beijing duck, and to our surprise, the staff actually recommended against ordering too much. We decided to half a Beijing duck (which was a set of 3 dishes) and we absolutely loved it! It was incredibly delicious. We also had sesame balls for dessert, which were fresh and delicious.
The restaurant accepts credit cards for transactions over $8. While some dishes may be hit or miss, the freshly made savory rice crepes are a must-try. The red bean ice cream dessert/drink is also highly recommended. The porridge was satisfactory, but the Cantonese fried noodles were disappointing. However, the freshly made rice crepes noodles receive a solid five-star rating for being a unique and delicious option.
Our experience at Ethan restaurant was absolutely fantastic! The staff was very attentive, especially William! He made sure we were well and well maintained. The food was delicious and when you order the Dimm combo, the food just stays coming! The service was fast, even if the restaurant was very busy. A great place to lunch in the middle of Montreal's Chinatown!
This is a real Chinese restaurant with a long list on the menu. The waiting time is minimal for food. They are very fast to put one on the table. There are many tables. Roast duck and crispy pigs are also good. We keep buying home.
Ordered stirred fried beef thick noodles 干炒牛河 , the flavor was great, the only thing weird is that they add stirred eggs in it as well, it reminds me of Pad Thai! Also ordered beef brisket rice noodles (牛腩河粉 , nice five spice stewed beef brisket and chewy rice noodles. Have both dishes to go, and the service was fast.
