Their menu is strait forward. Ordered 3 of their noodle soup, beef, vegetarian and the spicy one. All were excellent and my kids loved their vegetarian soup. On my opinion the broth of the vegetarian soup was the best out of the three. The soup was also excellent on my beef and I also ate the wife's spicy noodle. The noodles have great texture and is made fresh. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Nouilles de Lan Zhou:
Very fresh noodles. There are a limited number of choices (5-6), including at least one vegetarian option. I had the Home-Made Pork Sauce, and the noodles were pleasantly chewy but light. Portions are very large. The place is small and can get very crowded --more of a quick noodle shop rather than a sit-down restaurant. View all feedback.

Service was snappy and the food was great. The noodle soup is fantastic - i ordered a Medium and couldn't finish it. I'm amazed at the folks who could finish a large bowl. I asked the waiter if I should order the extra beef and he was honest enough to recommend that I wait and see if the beef portion in my stew was enough (it was more than enough!). I don't speak French, but I wish the waiter had told us that you could change the thickness of the noodles and even order flat ones. We sat by the bar and could watch the noodles being made which was very entertaining. I wish the waitress was more attentive with the waters though. All in all, a great Chinese food experience in Montreal!
There's usually a line up here, (which to me begs the need for competition), but if you want good handpulled noodles and are willing to eat in jammed conditions, perhaps even sharing a table with strangers, then bear with the crowds and eat here. Our group of four was seated at a table for three as they turned the wide stools perpendicular to the table so we had to straddle the seats to fit in. Order the dry noodle dishes, and avoid the ginormous soup bowls/tubs which look like a deal, but really it's a massive amount of so-so broth with a ton of noodles. This place is good only for those who have good mobility, can stand in long lines, are able to squeeze through crowded tables and can straddle sit on stools. Our elderly parents had difficulty with all of the above,
Les nouilles sont façonnées en vitrine. Pas de chichi. Les tables dont étroites et la salle exiguë. La carte est minimaliste mais tout y bon avec un excellent rapport qualité /prix.
We were looking for something quick and simple for dinner and saw this noodle shop in the recommendations. You can watch the noodles being hand-stretched while you wait. We went early expecting it to get busy later. We were seated within just a few minutes. Just 4 choices for the noodles and I recommend small, anything more you will want to share. The dishes were excellent, fresh tasty and hot. Great value authentic noodle shop - highly recommended.
