We waited 20 minutes after being seated without anyone coming to take our order, despite the restaurant being fairly empty. I had to approach the counter to ask if we were supposed to order there. The young woman at the register was very kind and sent over our waiter, who hadn’t noticed we’d arrived. He offered a lukewarm apology and remained cold and uninterested throughout our meal. The food came quickly— the chicken sandwich was tasty, but the pancakes were bland, oddly salty, and topped with a mix of melted frozen strawberries and sugar, supposedly the homemade jam. Overall, the service varied depending on the staff, the food and coffee were just okay (I’d skip the pancakes), but the atmosphere was pleasant and the food arrived promptly. A solid spot for brunch, offering the classic bacon and eggs breakfast you can find at many other places. My only issue, and why I’m giving it 3 stars, is that $23 for a few eggs and two slices of bacon feels overpriced. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Brunch Price per person: CA$20–30
