Been eating handmade baby wontons filled with pork and dressed in chili oil and peanut sauce at this little joint for over 20 years. There are legions of us addicted to these little gems. Great home-made Taiwanese cooking by lovely family. Delicious healthy tofu vegetable soup is good with dumplings for lunch with a small bowl of rice. What User doesn't like about Le Roi du wonton:
I'm always looking for a great wonton soup so I was really looking forward to visiting this downtown spot.I ordered the wonton soup and the fried dumplings. First the soup the broth was brown and that's it, no taste just salt, the wontons were a bit better but not much, they were aggressively underseasonned, just a faint hint of ginger. Now the fried dumplings. they were filled with cabbage but not much else...not eve... Best Taiwan Chinese restaurant in town it’s a student hangout so decor nothing to write home about but the service is great but when it’s busy get ready to wait because all the food is made fresh to order not a huge menu but the food is amazing and they do it well! If you like spicy this is the place for you! Mom and Pop restaurant! The Chef is also part of the family what else can I say but You Gotta Eat Here!
Good, reliable home food. I have been eating at this place for 20 years. Their food is always consistent, and they never compromise their ingredients by adding MSG. When I miss home food from Taiwan, this is the place to go. Chicken leg noodles are the best.
Simply delicious every single time!My favorite: twice cooked pork with noodles. Mild spicy. It's worth it! (Ps: tea and cookies included).
Absolutely fantastic! This restaurant is possibly the best in Montreal. The food was delicious, especially the homemade noodles. The prices are reasonable and the staff is incredibly friendly, making you feel comfortable and relaxed.
I highly recommend trying the medium spicy noodles with chicken and vegetables (consider doubling the noodles if you are very hungry), but make sure not to arrive starving as the food may take a little longer to reach your table.
