What User doesn't like about La Habanera:
I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was terrible and the food was equally bad. I went for lunch with a co-worker and attempted to order the fish tacos. View all feedback.
Bonne bouffe, bonne musique, mais quand le service t'insulte, ça annule tout. Changez-moi ça au plus sacrant!

I had been to la Habanera previously with friends and was not hungry so I hadn't had an opportunity to really try their food, so I decided to return to give it a shot. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. Once we were seated, we were told that several varieties of beer were unavailable as well as several items on the menu. Okay, it happens. We asked the server "what do you recommend", "what is amazing here". Therefore, I expect that what we ate represents the menu's top dishes. The first appetizer that came out - some fried potato balls stuffed with cheese and smoked meat - looked great. However, when you cut them open, the cheese was not melted... and it was actually very cold. We told the waiter who said he would tell the kitchen (because this was not normal, according to him) and make us others. We waited some more and then finally the waiter told us they couldn't serve that item anymore because they were having problems getting them right. Our waiter recommended an avocado salad - it was bland and very skimpy. Two pieces of avocado, three pieces of cucumber and two pieces of cantaloupe. The chicken tacos were good, but no wow factor. The pork ribs, priced at $15, one of the most expensive dishes on this tapas menu, were very very disappointing. Poor quality meat with very little actually meat. Having eaten at numerous rib fests, good ribs are not like that. The poutine was okay... they poured this pink salt (?) on the whole dish that overpowered the whole thing and many cheese curds tasted really off. Drinks sounded good on paper, but came out very "meh". The waiter was a really nice guy - but the service was frazzled and confused. La Habanera has great potential (it's a cute restaurant in an area devoid of such things), but unfortunately it's not there yet for us.
We came here for a quick lunch. The service was very pleasant and the food arrived to the table fast. Both dishes were very good. We sat in a small outside area. The room inside seemed small, so it's likely you will find the restaurant busy.
