Jano - Montréal

This is about Montreal's Portuguese style grilled chicken. There are many other restaurants that do a very good job, but Jano is where these flavors were born. Come here when you first try Portuguese chicken. Besides the chicken, everything else is great. Salad, natas, even bread.

An absolutely wonderful family restaurant for people who love grill!! I tried to chop their whole sea bass grill (succulent fish with signature hot sauce and loads of frits), lamb (aromatic and good portion size, but could be a little more delicate) traditional Portuguese grilled chicken! In short, it was worth money and staff were really helpful and friendly. Modified hygiene standards have been complied with. I will definitely visit again and try other items from their menu. If you look at this place, please do not order your food over eat! Visit them directly... Your food is best served freshly and the ambience fits perfectly with the products.

I discovered Jano a few years back, a bit before the pandemic hit, and it quickly became one of my top restaurants in Montreal. Absolutely scrumptious and succulent Portugese chicken and lamb chops... which is by the way my favourite food there. Super kind staff, quite quaint and cozy; everything about this place is lovely. On top of that, it is located on the beautiful Saint-Lawrence street (or Saint-Laurent if you're francophone . What more do you want?!

Phenomenal. Chicken was nice and moist, fries had flavour despite not looking like much. The spices were amazing and the whole thing was super filling. Not to mention all the bread we got with the family meal. Definitely recommend eating here!

The food, service, and atmosphere were fantastic. Just what we needed for an impromptu date night out. We will most def be returning!
