When my friends and I visited around 6:00 pm, we were promptly seated in their outdoor dining area, which unfortunately was right next to a noisy street. Despite the loud surroundings, no one seemed to mind and the place quickly filled up with a line forming for seats within 30 minutes of our arrival. The menu featured traditional Italian dishes such as pizzas, pastas, and salads. Although the service was a bit slow due to a lack of staff, the food was well worth the wait. I enjoyed a personal-sized pizza with gooey cheese and fresh sausage on a thin, crispy crust. My friend ordered a Caesar salad with a delicious dressing. Corneli is a beloved neighborhood spot with a bustling atmosphere and tasty food, making it the perfect place to dine when you're not in a rush.

We were presented with a menu and wine list, along with a complimentary appetizer of focaccia and olive oil for dipping. My wife ordered the linguini al salmone, which she found to be very good but the salmon was overcooked for her taste. I opted for the soup of the day, a vegetable soup, followed by the penne Futanesca with capers, black olives, spinach, and tomato sauce. The pasta had a slight spice to it which I enjoyed. Both dishes were excellent. We shared a creamy creme brulee for dessert, along with some coffee. If it's your first time at the restaurant, I recommend trying their famous lasagna. However, since it was my third visit to Montreal, I decided to try something different. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely return.

The food is really good and it is in the middle of Little Italy but we felt it took too long to get...our food. The focaccia bread was a nice touch at the beginning for a quick snack before our meal and we heard they had fruit at the end of a meal but we were not offered this. It took 10 minutes to get a waiter to order from, 20 minutes to get our appetizers and a further 30 minutes to get our entree. Everything was really good but we didn't expect to wait so long and were late for our evening plans. I'd say make this your night plans as it is very popular, tasty and busy. Beaubien is the closest metro and it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to walk from there.
