The service seems to be consistently good, with servers being apologetic and accommodating to allergies. The restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere with French signage and menus, along with a variety of vegan and traditional Quebec fare options. Overall, it seems like a hit or miss depending on what you order, but worth a try for those looking for vegan options in Montreal.
We had the tacos and a poutine and while everything was in order, it was nothing special. the pommes were especially a goodbye.
I'm definitely going to come back again, the staff is full of joy and the food is perfection. The menu is only in French but they'll answer any questions you might have. I got the Burger Rock Ta Poire and Poutine, the flavor of the burger was fantastic as they balanced the sweet and savory flawlessly! This was my first time trying poutine, so I'm not sure how it's supposed to taste in order to give a more in depth critique, but I sure did enjoy it!! Updated from previous review on 2022-05-23
I've been there maybe 5-6 times and the meals were never bad, they just were disappointing. Like Aux Vivres, Lola Rosa, Green Panther and Végo, Antidote is one of the OGs of the vegan restaurants on the MTL stage. You have to respect what they've done for the community but at the same time they all share the same problem : the menu doesnt really have a soul. Its a weird mix of veganized north-american comfort foods like burgers and poutines alongside classic vegan ethnic meals like tacos, hummus and curry. The flavor profile of these things have NOTHING in common, so everything looses finesse and love. I believe a smaller, simpler, more oriented menu would really allow the chef to make this beautiful restaurant an detour-worthy spot.
Fries for brunch were cold. waffeln were made clear some time ago and stabbed. since then were fat. To be honest, both brunch dishes we took were quite disappointing. server was at least apologetic and the service (and coffee) was good.
Very pleasant decoration. good menu. signage and menus are in French (but a QR code offers a link to an English menu). I chose the burger rock la poire, along with a pint of good local beer (pixel ipa). the menu describes it as homemade burgerpatty (it looked like a shop-bought, round, flat), and the burger meal with frits and salat was quite good. I want to try more from the menu, especially brunch. they have poutins and smoked meat sandwiches on the menu traditional Quebec stuffs. in the city six months later I had the regular poutine that comes with a small green salate and a glass of bright ale. comfortable service. beautiful that they were open on Friday. updated by previous review on 2021-12-22
