Capitol Grounds offers a great selection of coffee, tea, and smoothies, along with a kitchen serving bagels and pastries. You can enjoy your meal and drinks indoors surrounded by local artwork or outside by a charming little stream.

However, I noticed fewer staff memb... read more Capitol Grounds has been remodeled since my last visit last summer, and the updates seem to have improved its functionality. However, I noticed fewer staff members who seemed less knowledgeable or experienced. The 802 coffee was excellent, but my chocolate chip cookie was overbaked. Vermont continues to struggle with workforce shortages, and I believe local and state government agencies need to collaborate closely with business owners to address this problem urgently.

I visited this morning and spoke with a young lady to ask if I needed to be seated to receive service. She confirmed that I did, so I took a seat. Unfortunately, after waiting for 15 minutes, I didn’t receive any service, which left me feeling quite disappointed. Thank you for making me feel so welcomed.

I d... read more During my week in town, I consistently enjoyed excellent coffee. While the bagels were just average, I found the breakfast sandwiches to be quite enjoyable. I did encounter a slightly grumpy staff member, which put a small damper on my experience and cost them a star in my rating. However, I would definitely return, as the overall atmosphere was really pleasant.
