I dine there frequently and can confidently say it's the best restaurant in the state. For over a century, Wayside has been serving its customers high-quality food with a unique selection, embodying local charm and warmth for both residents and visitors. The food is excellent, and the variety of specials is impressive, with prices that are consistently reasonable. The service is exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff. As regular customers, we feel almost like family, which keeps us returning time and time again.

We visited the restaurant on Sunday morning with a group of 11, and it was understandably quite busy. Despite this, the staff worked hard to accommodate us and managed to get us a table together in under 20 minutes. The service was excellent, and I want to commend the hosting and serving staff for their great job. Everyone in our group enjoyed their breakfast; mine was a delicious vegetarian omelet that I particularly loved. Thank you!

This place was one of my favorite breakfast places for quite a few years. Unfortunately that has changed. The Eggs Benedict came out luke warm and the hollandaise sauce was quite bland. We ordered right away after being seated and it took approximately 30 minutes to get the food. This is understandable as it was busy. However after waiting that long to only have my food come out luke warm and bland was disheartening. On a smaller note the ketchup they use is awful. It was cheap and way too sweet. I'm not sure why they don't use Heinz or another of higher quality but I'm guessing it's a cost factor. The waitress was friendly and provided good service for how busy it was. The restaurant was also clean and inviting. I'm not saying I won't be back and will probably give it another try. I will decide from there if I'll return again. I hope it returns to what it once was.

We enjoy this restaurant/diner a lot. Full of local folks who enjoy good food at reasonable prices with cheerful wait staff my favorite meal is breakfast where they serve up pancakes and other typical breakfast goodies, bottomless coffee, and offer localingredients such as maple syrup and Cabot butter. Comfort food and great service.

Icon of Vermont. Doing business for more than 100 years. Good home comfort food with large menu of items to choose from. The owners care. Photos shot during COVID shut down only time it has been possible to shoot photos of an empty Wayside.
