If you're in Montgomery, you absolutely have to check out this hidden gem. I almost overlooked it, but I was craving peach cobbler, and my daughter, who enjoys Mrs. Wild Soul Food in Savannah, recommended JW. The food here is a true reflection of Southern hospitality. It's clear that everything is prepared with love, and you can really taste it in every delicious bite. Don’t just take my word for it—go see for yourse... View all feedback.

I ordered 3 wings and 3 sides. Plus I ordered a pork chop sandwich. It was my first time ordering from them, and I felt the prices were expensive. My bill for both was 25 dollars and change, plus the drink is NOT included! I thought the greens were too sweet, not enough smoked turkey flavor. I thought the dressing was also sweet, and should be more savory, the candied yams were clearly from the can, didn’t like the f... View all feedback.
The service is warm and welcoming. Felt like I was right at home. The food was AMAZING. Definitely comfort food at its finest. I loved the green beans and new potatoes. My husband's pork chops were the best I have ever seen in a restaurant. I will be looking for any excuse to return. Kid-friendliness: They loved the wings!

The customer service was nice, and the restaurant was clean! Unfortunately, I don’t think I will go back!
Traveling from Indiana to Florida and stopped here for lunch and I am really glad we did.Customer Sevice was top notch!!!The portions were huge. The food was delicious! Especially the smothered pork chops. Wow!
I am constantly searching for great southern food. To me, the gold standards are Mrs. Wilkes in Savannah, Puckett's Grocery in Nashville and The Senators Place in Cleveland, MS. Unfortunately, The Senators Place has closed, and I needed to find a great replacement. Well, I found it. This place is absolutely as good as you can get in southern dishes. I tried oxtail for the first time, and it is absolutely incredible. Tender and tasty, with fall off the bone texture. It was served over a bed of white rice with a delicious gravy poured over both. The fried okra is not Cracker Barrel okra, but real down-home okra. The collards I had were sweet and soft with an amazing taste. My wife had this pork chop lunch that featured two pork chops, one smothered and the other pan fried. Both were sensational. She had the black-eyed peas and cabbage. I tried both and they were great. Similar to the collards, the peas had a sweetness that added to a great flavor. Now it gets better. For dessert, we had the peach cobbler. All I will say about it is that if they would have put vanilla ice cream on it, I would be still there eating it. Hot and full of peaches, just delicious. Somehow, we got our order messed up and ended up with a hamburger steak over rice (yes, and with that great gravy over both). Since it was a mistake, they were nice enough to allow us to carry it out at no cost. Service was like walking into your family's kitchen for lunch. You would have thought that we were regulars for the way we were treated. Tesha Johnson and the rest of the crew will make you feel at home with sincerity, nothing phony about this place. The only problem I have is that there are other spots in Montgomery I want to try, but there is no way I don't hit this spot every time I am in the area. You must try this.
This was my first visit to this restaurant and the food was amazing! I ordered the smothered fried chicken wings with beef gravy and it was heavenly. I enjoyed my food so much that I ordered three more wings with the beef gravy. I had a side order of collards with turkey bits and every bite contained turkey and my other side was green beans with brisket. Yummy! The owner was so friendly and hospitable and I couldn't leave without filling the tip jar. If you're ever in Montgomery, hit up this joint because the food is outstanding!
