My husband and I brought our mother to Brunch's mother's day. Food and service was amazing. There were a few children out of control who scream and act terrible. Mad me feel bad for her parents, but more for the other guests who try to enjoy the day. Love it and will definitely be back! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Monterey Plaza:
First, we thought we would be overlooking the water for this Easter brunch but were instead in an internal room with no windows. The price was high but we knew this going in. What we didn’t know is that they would add a 25 percent service charge for a table for two at a buffet!!! View all feedback.
So impressed by Monterey Plaza Hotel. This was our first stay here and we will definitely be back. The hotel is very clean, staff is very friendly, and the views are unmatched. We also loved how there is a coffee shop and a restaurant connected to the hotel. The location is just off of the main walking area which makes it not so hectic. The staff all greet you with a welcoming smile and hello. We can't wait to be back! For reference with the photo attached, we booked a King Room with a Partial Ocean View and balcony and it was SO worth it! Worth paying a bit more for this beautiful view!
Lovely place to stay. Despite only one night we would definitely want to return. We saw many animals right from the building property!Rooms: 5/5
We were extremely disappointed with our recent stay at the Monterey Plaza Hotel. The room was very basic and there were no special amenities. It felt more like a chain hotel, i.e. a Hampton Inn, instead of a luxury boutique hotel! We had just spent 2 nights in San Francisco at the Fairmont Hotel where the lobby was luxurious and the rooms was spacious (two separate sleeping areas in a double queen room) all for less than $500 a night. In comparison, this hotel was less than stunning with no extra amenities and cost more than $700 for an inland room with a view of a dirty, old building and parking lot. Further, there is a huge discrepancy between the pictures on the website and the actual hotel. For example, the website shows the gym overlooking a beautiful bay, when in reality, you are looking at run down buildings with black marks all over them. Not cute and picturesque as expected.
All staff and hotel details food, room, location, views exceptional! Staying here for the week and travelling around to and from Monterey was the best decision we made. Valet staff exceptionally great and helpful! All in all, one of the best stays and vacations we have had. Thank you!Rooms: 5/5
We booked the rehearsal lunch for our wedding though Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa and had an amazing experience. We worked with Angela as our service manager and she helped me plan the perfect event for our guests. The banquet menu had a lot off options and we ended choosing a plated lunch. The food was AMAZING and all of our guests commented on how much they loved their meals. The staff that helped us during the lunch were very attentive and professional. The only thing that could have been better was we had to pay for the lunch in multiple installments and we would have a preferred a deposit and final payment. However, Angela was very helpful in coordinating a payment day of and then a refund of previously made payments. Overall we had a great experience and I recommend Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa for similar events.
