I was taken aback by my experience. While the reviews were positive and the decor had a distinctly British charm, the food fell short of expectations. However, the service was commendable; without it, I would have rated this place just two stars. My cottage pie was presented like a slice of cake, and the vegetables were hardly cooked. My wife's meal was similarly unimpressive. We dined there during a bustling weekend... View all feedback.
We love the atmosphere. great sticky toffee pudding! it wasn't clean. I don't understand why they can't replace, even the carpets go the stairs and the bar. only by calling the good food and cash we come. if they did the basics, it would be more beautiful.
We were staying nearby hotel and needed a place for a quick dinner. Thanks to Yelp, it brought is here. Service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant can be loud during busy dinner time. We ordered one of their evening special, Chicken Cordon Blue w/Mac n Cheese and Brisket over Mac n Cheese and a cup of clam chowder. Everything was delish but Mac n Cheese lack in flavor in my opinion. Can't wait to go back and try different dishes.
The Crown Anchor is my goto place when I 'm in town for Car Week. Food and service are way above standard pub fare, the barkeeps are friendly and knowledgeable. Conversation at the bar is a huge draw for me. Proprietors Tony and Sarah are most welcoming. They run an honest house.
Food was really good. I ordered the Sanddab. Never had this fish before but very happy with the food. I came in with my two babies in a double stroller and the waitstaff was very helpful getting our stroller up and down the stairs. Thank you so much!
A lot of fun with delicious desserts! Been going for years Family friendly until About 10 and then younger crowd. The decor is worth stopping by to check out. Worth a visit.
