The service was attentive and... read more My wife and I dined at Laurel Sage on March 16th, 2019. The food was outstanding and not your typical fare, which we appreciated. The service was attentive and cordial. The owner (who is the boss's wife) was very gracious. We will definitely return and recommend this restaurant to our daughter when she visits her friend in Nutley. Just a heads up: parking is on the street, not in the lot behind the restaurant, as it is residential.

Not only is the food fantastic, but the staff is attentive and friendly. We’ve dined here several times, but our go-to dishes include the shrimp and chorizo risotto, short ribs, crab cakes, and the kale salad... all fantastic! We highly recommend Laurel Sage. NYC quality food in the heart of Montclair.

Our starters, entrees and the one dessert we could fit were all creatively conceived, beautifully executed and thoughtfully served. We savored every bite. I wouldn 't change one thing. The delicious popover basket was a wonderful, unexpected extra. Even the non bread eaters made an exception! Perhaps it is not the case for everyone, but our table near the door separated us from all but one other table, and we could comfortably hear one another. The crowning touch on a perfect evening! Oh...one last pleasantry easily finding street parking as opposed to the experience of downtown Montclair. We would have been back sooner, but it 's hard to get a prime time reservation. Clearly the word is out.
