Elyssia's Kitchen - Montclair
Elyssia's Kitchen
Description
This restaurant offers a stark contrast in dining experiences, with some patrons lauding its authentic flavors while others express profound disappointment. While certain dishes like kimchi rice and soup dumplings shine, recurring issues with quality, such as undercooked meat and lackluster flavor in pork noodles, overshadow the positives. Service also drew criticism, with reports of staff being inattentive and hygiene practices questioned. Despite its potential, many customers are left reconsidering their choices, indicating a need for the restaurant to address food preparation and consistency to improve future visits.

Two stars today. The Pork and kimchi dumplings tasted rotten I ate one and spit it out. I'm usually not disappointed with this spot. I may rethink this menu item in the future.
I was so excited to see they have soup dumplings. Very few places in this area have them. I ordered for takeout; when I opened the container when I got home I see shriveled up dumplings. There's no broth in these at all. The dumplings themselves had a good flavor but I'm just disappointed it wasn't soup dumplings at all.
They need to improve their takeout game. The pork dumplings were the only things we ordered that we liked. We found the pork noodles that we ordered bland and not appetizing at all sadly. The kimchi rice was good I have had better but it was not awful. I think the food overall coulda been more flavorful for asian food. Won't be ordering again.
The dumplings at this restaurant are amazing! I usually don't order dumplings with vegetables, but I took a chance and they were absolutely delicious.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I have been looking forward to trying their food for a while, but was let down when my order arrived with raw meat in the dumplings. The noodles with pork had a good flavor, but were overcooked. The pot stickers also had raw pork inside, and I am now worried about getting sick from eating them. The pan fried bao had a good flavor, but lacked filling inside - it was mostly dough with a small amount of meat. I also ordered a sweet dish, but had to throw it away after finding raw pork in my food. Overall, I couldn't eat anything further after this disappointing experience.
