Thanks to previous reviews, we decided to have dinner here before a concert at The Wellmont, which is just a short walk away—making it the perfect spot. We arrived at 5:30 and were seated promptly. I really liked the tablet menu! Our server was friendly and brought water quickly. What S H dislikes about Ah' Pizz:
This restaurant displayed discrimination towards my partner, who is Black, when we attempted to order takeout near closing time. Despite being told they were still taking orders, a white hostess refused to take my partner's order after seeing him approach. This experience was extremely hurtful and we will be reporting this incident to the Division of Consumer Affairs. View all feedback.
Great pizza and service! Only tiny downside is that it gets a bit hot in the restaurant during summer months since their AC doesn't work too well.
My original review can be found below. Since then I 've tried their pizza again and it was actually amazing. I started eating here again about 1 year ago. Definitely very close to Pizza in Italy, I love the addition of the fresh basil. This isn 't American style pizza it 's more authentic Italian style. One tip it has to be eaten right away. The crust is so thin that once it comes out of the oven within an hour it becomes soggy depending on the type of pizza that 's chosen. If you want something that will last a little longer let 's say for a party or something, go with something that doesn 't have a tomato base, or you can ask the restaurant to put less tomato sauce. These are meant to eaten it right away so eat it as soon as you get it. 3 years ago (2 stars) Soggy. Sad. Pizza Sauce needs tomato paste and fresh basil or any basil ... Cheese was amazing.
Service was fast. Not even 10 min to bring the pizza. Delicious and crispy!! Never disappointed.
Delicious pizza! The gluten free pizza was great, thicker and crunchy crust!!! They offer unique flavors and toppings!
Definitely a great additionto downtown Montclair! We ate outside and we could not have been more pleased. The pizzas were nicely sized and the helpful friendly waitstaff really made everything fantastic. Perfect if you have any dietary restrictions.
