This excellent restaurant burned down in autumn 2015. I drove by on July 24 and there are still no signs of rebuilding. It was a wonderful dining option in the Mont Tremblant area and is definitely missed. No idea if there are plans to reopen, but hope that there are. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about La Capricieuse:
The main course (liver) was quite good, but the creme brulee was slightly burnt. The service was average as the waiter seemed to be trying extra hard to ignore us. View all feedback.

We were saddened to hear this restaurant burned down in the fall of 2015. It was one of our favourites in Tremblant (see previous review). We hope they will be able to rebuild once the weather is better. There have been no updates on their website or Facebook, so we are at a loss - and hoping they will be able to return...
Went with a small group. Restaurant very busy indicating its popularity. We had the table d'hote . Excellent value at $25- really a steal. Can be a little noisy with large groups. Not being located in old St. Jovite means the need to drive there. Has outdoor eating area which on sunny evenings is great. Service was very good and servers very pleasant. Food was very good. Servings quite adequate. Wine list quite reasonable. For sure we will return.
Ten of us dined here August 2nd. Beautiful patio overlooking the lake, nice atmosphere. Food was very good with the exception of the filet mignons and the lamb which were overcooked. medium rare was ordered but there was no red at all. It shouldn't be that difficult to cook meat properly At $35 & $29, you should expect your meat cooked as you ordered. The servers were very friendly and nice but could have been a little more attentive. I will likely give it a second try. A full meal with wine is close to $200 so I think its fair to ask a little more of the resto.
Have been meaning to try this place and had dinner here tonight (Sunday). It was raining and thunderstorms were still in the area, so no dining on their lakeside deck but the inside dining room was both welcoming and full of animated conversation and happy diners. Apparently, on Sunday nights they have specials on mussels and oysters, though I simply ordered their very reasonable table d'hôte for $25. That included a choice of either soup or salad, fish or meat (I chose gazpacho and a beautifully roasted chicken breast), and dessert, which tonight was crème brûlée. As is generally true of Mont Tremblant restaurants, both the menu and the servers were fluent in French and in English. The menu is eclectic, relatively limited, but still offers a nice selection of pastas, fish and meats, all of which seemed to be served with vegetable accompaniments and were very nicely plated. Wine by the glass was quite reasonable. I think that I chose the more expensive of the reds, a Sangiovese at $9.All and all, La Capricieuse is a welcome addition to the expanding list of decent to very good restaurants in the Mont Tremblant area, as the largely Montreal and local crowd tonight clearly attested. Last night, I should add, was totally booked when I tried to make a reservation- - - -a good sign.La Capricieuse is located about 5 minutes from St-Jovite (also known as downtown Mont-Tremblant). Just take Quebec Route 327 South to Lac Maskinongé and turn left at the street known as Chemin du Tour du Lac. The restaurant is just a few seconds' drive from 327 and is on the lake. It definitely will be among the dozen or so restaurants that I make a point to visit at least once every 12 to 18 months when I am at Tremblant.
