Great little pit stop when crossing states, it's close to the Highway and a number of great (though mostly fast food and a Dennys) eateries. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself is old but well maintained. The rooms are roomy and very comfortable but the bath tub is slightly worn with a few worn bits, everything was very clean though. They also have a convenience store in the lobby that sel... What Susana Hagenes doesn't like about Doubletree By Hilton Pittsburgh Monroeville Convention Center:
Nice location, friendly service during check-in and got a nice warm cookie. Hotel has potential, but room definitely in need of renovation. Moldy caulking and dirty air vent. I was only here for a night for a meeting, so it didn't bother me much. I was upgraded to top floor (it is 15th floor, but on the elevator, it is PH). So I got a bigger room. Room is large with vaulted ceiling being on the top floor. I really wa... View all feedback.
Overall I would rate this hotel a 2. The rooms are very old and outdated. Wallpaper was hanging from the wall all over our room, the carpet looks like it’s from the 70’s, the Wi-Fi didn’t work, no microwave or fridge in the room, the hot tub doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned in ages and the pool water was so cold it was uncomfortable and painful. I also know there is nothing you can do about it lantern flys, but there is a swarm at the front doors. I mean dead and alive flies everywhere. An abundance. You should at least have someone to sweep them and not drag them through the lobby and hotel. The location was nice and very quick to downtown Pittsburgh and the stadium.
Hotel looks nice in the pictures, but man does it need renovations. Rooms look old, drywall is falling apart in the shower area, carpeting looks like it’s from the 90’s. Also, there is no refrigerator or microwave in the rooms(maybe it was just my room), which is quite ridiculous for a Hilton property. Even Motel 6 has a fridge and microwave. Breakfast in the morning cost like $15. Lastly, good luck entering the building without getting swarmed. There’s a huge population of spotted lantern flys that hang out in front of the main entrance. They’ll fly all over you and you’ll be looking like a wacky wavy inflatable arm flailing tube man trying to knock them all off. I know they’re an invasive species, but y’all seriously gotta try to do something to deter them from your main entrance. It’s was a nuisance and pretty disgusting with the amount of them there.
Nice location, friendly service during check in. The reception area and the restaurant are very good.I stayed there with family for a night in Aug 2nd week, did not like the rooms, I would not go there again. In the first room I was given, the carpet was soaked and completely wet. I asked for a different one.In the other room, there are many things which we did not like stinking carpet, dust everywhere , lights not working in the room, torn shower curtain, flush going off every 10 mins etc. After a very long drive, the one which annoyed me most was the a/c. It was making a loud noise like a generator inside the room. I could not sleep at all. The funny thing is when I went to the front desk to check if they can assist in any way. The receptionist smiled and gave me 3 sets of ear plugs. I can guess, thats a routine there.

I know hotels are still recovering from the lost during pandemic, so hopefully the hotel will start considering renovation soon.

The store is open till 2am.
